What drives the cost of MCA leads?

The cost of an MCA lead is driven mainly by four things: how many buyers receive it, how fresh it is, how tightly it is filtered, and how expensive the traffic behind it was to buy. An exclusive inquiry delivered seconds after a merchant with strong revenue submits will always cost more than a shared record from last quarter with no revenue floor. Neither is automatically the better buy.

The number that matters is not the price of a lead. It is the cost per funded deal: everything you spent to produce one funded merchant, compared with what that merchant earns you. A cheap lead that never funds is expensive. An expensive lead that funds often can be cheap. This page explains the pricing models you will see, the factors behind them, and how to run the math on your own numbers.

LoanLeads.io publishes its MCA lead prices, so you can run this math before you spend anything. Real-time leads are priced per lead by how many ISOs receive them and when, aged records are priced per record by the merchant's monthly revenue and the age of the inquiry, and both get lower unit prices at larger order sizes. Live transfers are the exception: they are still quoted per call. The full price tables are in the next section.

How much do LoanLeads.io MCA leads cost?

Real-time MCA leads from LoanLeads.io cost $60 per lead exclusive, or $35, $25 or $15 per lead in a shared slot, before volume discounts. They are sold online in packs of 150, 500 or 1,000 leads and paid 100% upfront. Prices per lead after the pack discount, with the pack total in parentheses:

Every real-time lead completes a detailed application and passes phone validation: a format, area code and carrier lookup that confirms the number is active. Traffic comes from paid search and social, SEO sites, native ads and affiliates.

Aged MCA lead prices

Aged MCA records are priced per record by the merchant's monthly revenue and the maximum age of the inquiry. The minimum order is 5,000 records, paid 100% upfront, and larger orders earn bulk discounts. Price per record:

Aged tier5,000 to 19,999 records20,000+ records (10% off)50,000+ records (25% off)100,000+ records (50% off)
Over $20k monthly revenue, under 8 months old$0.20$0.18$0.15$0.10
Over $40k monthly revenue, under 6 months old$0.40$0.36$0.30$0.20
Over $60k monthly revenue, under 4 months old$0.60$0.54$0.45$0.30
Over $80k monthly revenue, under 3 months old$0.80$0.72$0.60$0.40
Over $100k monthly revenue, under 3 months old$1.00$0.90$0.75$0.50

The cheapest way in is the 5,000-record minimum in the over-$20k tier: $1,000, or $1,040 with the 4% processing fee. For comparison, 5,000 records in the over-$40k tier cost $2,000, and 20,000 records in the same tier cost $7,200. LoanLeads.io also sells a list of ISOs, verified by email and phone, at $0.40 per record, with 20,000 records available.

Fees, replacements and live transfers

  • Processing fee. A 4% processing fee applies to orders.
  • Replacements. Replacements are at LoanLeads.io's sole discretion. Request one within 3 days of receiving the lead, with a valid reason: a disconnected or invalid phone number, a clear duplicate (with proof of prior delivery within 30 days), a lead who explicitly says they never inquired (real-time leads only), or a lead outside the agreed geographic targeting. All fees are non-refundable.
  • Live transfers. Transfers are still priced per call on a quote. Book a call to get one.

Which pricing models do MCA lead providers use?

MCA leads are sold under five common pricing models, and each one shifts cost and risk differently between buyer and provider.

ModelWhat you pay forWhere it fitsWhat to check
Exclusive cost per leadEach fresh record delivered to you aloneTeams that call within minutes and want first contactHow exclusivity is defined and how long it lasts
Shared cost per leadA fresh record also sold to a set number of other buyersLower budgets willing to compete on speed and offerHow many buyers receive each record
Aged, per recordOlder inquiries, usually priced by age bucketVolume dialing, texting and email nurtureAge ranges, prior sale history, filters available
Pay-per-call (live transfer)A screened merchant connected to your line past an agreed durationTeams with closers ready to answer every callDuration threshold, duplicate window, hours and caps
Volume tiersLower unit pricing in exchange for larger or recurring ordersBuyers who have tested and know their numbersCommitment length, minimums and what happens if quality drops

Exclusive and shared real-time leads are covered on the real-time MCA leads page. Aged records and pay-per-call each have their own pages: aged MCA leads and MCA live transfers. At LoanLeads.io, volume tiers are published: 20% off a 500-lead real-time pack, 30% off 1,000 leads, and 10%, 25% or 50% off aged orders of 20,000, 50,000 or 100,000 records. A sensible path is to start with the smallest order, prove the lead type works for you, then move up a tier.

Which factors move the price of an MCA lead?

Within any pricing model, eight factors push the price of an MCA lead up or down. Knowing them lets you decide which ones are worth paying for.

  1. Exclusivity. A record sold once commands more than one sold several times, because the provider gives up the revenue from the other sales.
  2. Age. Freshness is the steepest price curve in lead buying. Value falls quickly in the first hours and keeps falling across the aged buckets.
  3. Filters. Every filter removes merchants from the pool. Fewer qualifying merchants means a higher cost to produce each one.
  4. Revenue floor. The strongest single filter. Merchants with higher monthly revenue can support larger advances, more buyers want them, and fewer of them fill out forms.
  5. Time in business. Businesses with longer histories are easier to underwrite and in higher demand.
  6. State. Demand concentrates in some states, and some buyers limit their footprint because of licensing or disclosure processes. Narrow state lists can raise prices.
  7. Traffic source. Search traffic, where the owner typed a funding query, usually costs more to acquire than social or native traffic, where the ad found the owner. The intent level differs, and the price follows.
  8. Verification. Extra steps such as phone validation, consent documentation and additional screening questions add cost to every lead and remove some bad records before they reach you.

Two softer factors also matter: delivery hours, because leads produced during business hours are in higher demand, and the volume you commit to, because providers can plan traffic around steady orders.

How do you calculate cost per funded deal and ROI?

Divide everything you spent on a lead order by the number of deals it funded, then compare that figure with the revenue each funded deal brings. Three formulas cover most decisions:

  • Cost per funded deal = lead spend ÷ funded deals
  • Fully loaded cost per funded deal = (lead spend + sales labor + tools) ÷ funded deals
  • ROI = (revenue from funded deals − fully loaded cost) ÷ fully loaded cost

Worked example (real prices, hypothetical results)

The lead prices below are LoanLeads.io's published prices. Every other figure, from merchants reached to funded deals, labor and deal size, is invented to show the arithmetic and is not a market average or a prediction of your results. Picture an ISO that runs two test orders: a 500-lead exclusive real-time pack and a 20,000-record aged order.

StepOrder A: 500 exclusive real-time leadsOrder B: 20,000 aged records
Price per lead or record$48 (500-lead pack, 20% off)$0.36 (over-$40k tier, 10% off)
Lead price$24,000$7,200
4% processing fee$960$288
Lead spend$24,960$7,488
Merchants reached (example)3002,400
Bank statements received (example)7570
Files submitted to funders (example)6050
Funded deals (example)106
Cost per funded deal$2,496$1,248
Sales labor and tools (example)$5,000$14,000
Fully loaded cost per funded deal$2,996$3,581

On lead spend alone, Order B looks twice as efficient: $1,248 per funded deal against $2,496. Once labor is included, Order A is cheaper per funded deal, because the aged order needed far more dials, texts and rep hours to produce its six deals. A team with spare rep capacity might weigh that labor differently than a team that is already stretched.

Now add revenue. Suppose, again only as an example, that each funded deal averages $40,000 and the ISO earns 8% of the funded amount, or $3,200 per deal. Order A's ten deals produce $32,000, so its ROI is ($32,000 − $29,960) ÷ $29,960, about 7%. Order B's six deals produce $19,200, so its ROI is ($19,200 − $21,488) ÷ $21,488, a loss of about 11%.

What the example teaches

  • Small changes in conversion swing the result. If Order A funded twelve deals instead of ten, cost per funded deal would fall to $2,080 and ROI would rise sharply. Your follow-up speed and offers are as much a part of lead cost as the price.
  • Deal size can outweigh everything. One large funding in an aged batch can turn a losing order into a strong one. That is why you judge orders on funded volume and revenue, not on records reached.
  • Renewals add value later. A merchant who renews brings revenue without a new lead cost. If renewals are part of your model, count expected renewal revenue when you judge a source over a longer window.

Funders can run the same math with their own revenue measure, typically the expected margin on the advance after losses, in place of a commission.

What is the most you can afford to pay per MCA lead?

The most you can afford to pay per lead is your revenue per funded deal multiplied by the share of leads that fund, minus the labor and tools each lead consumes. That figure is your break-even lead price. Pay more and every order loses money. Pay less and the difference is profit.

Break-even lead price = (revenue per funded deal × funded deals ÷ leads) − (labor and tools ÷ leads)

Applying it to the example above (hypothetical results)

Using the numbers from Order A: revenue per funded deal is $3,200, 10 of 500 leads funded (2%), and labor and tools came to $5,000, or $10 per lead.

  • Revenue per lead: $3,200 × 2% = $64
  • Break-even lead price: $64 − $10 = $54

Order A paid $48 per lead, or $49.92 with the 4% processing fee, which sits under its $54 break-even figure. That is why it made money. For Order B, 6 of 20,000 records funded (0.03%) and labor was $14,000, or $0.70 per record. Revenue per record is $3,200 × 0.03% = $0.96, so the break-even price is $0.96 − $0.70 = $0.26 per record. Order B paid $0.36, or about $0.37 with the fee. That is why it lost money in the example: it paid more per record than its break-even figure.

Turning break-even into a target

Nobody buys leads to break even. Decide the margin you need, then set your target lead price below break-even by that amount. If you want 30% of revenue per lead left after lead and labor costs, your target is revenue per lead × 0.7, minus labor per lead. With the Order A numbers, that is $64 × 0.7 − $10, or about $34.80. That is below the $48 exclusive price, so in this example the ISO would need a higher funded rate, or a cheaper shared slot (slot 1 costs $28 per lead in a 500-lead pack) that still funds at a workable rate, to hit that margin.

Three cautions apply. First, your funded rate is an estimate until you have tested a source, so treat the first calculation as a hypothesis. Second, the funded rate moves with your own performance: faster follow-up or better offers raise the price you can afford. Third, revenue per deal should include expected renewals if they are a real part of your business, which can raise your break-even price considerably for sources that produce loyal merchants.

How do you compare real-time, aged and live-transfer costs fairly?

Compare lead types on fully loaded cost per funded deal, over the same time window, with the same team working them. Comparing price per unit across types is like comparing the price of flour with the price of bread.

  • Use the same window. Aged leads fund more slowly because the cadence runs for weeks. Judge every source after a long enough period, for example 60 days from delivery, so slow sources are not undercounted.
  • Count rep time honestly. Track the hours each source consumes. Live transfers use closer time but almost no dialing time. Aged records use a lot of dialing time. Real-time leads sit between.
  • Include time to fund. A deal that funds in three days returns cash sooner than one that takes three weeks, which matters if you are funding positions or managing cash flow.
  • Look at average deal size by source. Different sources can attract different merchants. A source with fewer but larger deals may beat one with more small ones.
  • Keep the test clean. Tag every record with its source, order and filter set. Mixing sources in one queue makes the comparison impossible.

Many buyers end up with a blend: real-time leads for first contact, aged records to keep reps busy and find returning merchants, and live transfers in hours with spare closer capacity. The right mix is whatever your own tagged numbers support.

What should an MCA lead quote spell out?

A useful MCA lead quote states the price and also the terms that decide what you actually receive for it. Before you accept a quote from any provider, make sure it answers these questions:

  • Exclusivity: Is the lead sold to you only? If shared, to how many buyers?
  • Freshness: For real-time leads, how quickly after submission is the record delivered? For aged leads, what are the exact age ranges?
  • Filters: Which filters are included in the price, and which change it?
  • Consent: What consent record comes with each lead, and in what form?
  • Returns or disputes: What counts as a return or a disputed call, how do you raise it, and in what timeframe?
  • Delivery: API, webhook or email, and during which hours?
  • Volume and caps: Daily caps, minimum order and whether a test order is available.
  • Traffic sources: Broadly, where the merchants come from and how publishers are vetted.

Be cautious with any provider who promises funded deals or fixed conversion rates, will not describe how consent is captured, or cannot tell you whether a lead is exclusive. These are red flags at any price. The guide on how to choose an MCA lead provider covers vetting in more depth.

How do you buy MCA leads from LoanLeads.io?

You buy real-time and aged MCA leads from LoanLeads.io online: pick a lead type and order size from the tables above, place the order and pay upfront. The process runs in four steps:

  1. Choose your product. An exclusive or shared real-time pack of 150, 500 or 1,000 leads, or an aged order of at least 5,000 records in the revenue tier you want.
  2. Place the order. Go to the order page, fill in your company details, accept the lead production order terms and pay 100% upfront, plus the 4% processing fee.
  3. Connect delivery. Real-time leads post to your CRM by API or webhook, or arrive by email, so set up and test the connection before leads start flowing.
  4. Track, then scale. Follow every lead through to funded deals, and move to a larger pack or a bigger aged order once your cost per funded deal works.

Want to talk it through first, or price live transfers? Use the booking page or call (647) 709-5026. Bring your current numbers if you have them: contact rate, documents rate, funded rate and revenue per deal from your existing sources. They make it easier to pick the lead type and tier that match what already works for you.

If you are new to buying leads and have no history yet, that is fine. Start with the break-even formula above using conservative guesses, choose the product that matches the merchants you fund most easily, and treat the first order as the way you learn your real numbers. After one tested order you will know more about your true cost per funded deal than any price table can tell you, and your next order can be sized on that.

FAQ

Questions buyers ask

How much do MCA leads cost?

At LoanLeads.io, real-time MCA leads cost $60 per lead exclusive, or $35, $25 or $15 in a shared slot, with 20% off a 500-lead pack and 30% off 1,000. Aged records cost $0.20 to $1.00 each by revenue tier and age, with a 5,000-record minimum. A 4% processing fee applies. Judge any price by your expected cost per funded deal, not by the price of a single lead.

Can I buy MCA leads online?

Yes. Real-time packs of 150, 500 or 1,000 leads and aged orders of 5,000 records or more are sold on the LoanLeads.io order page at /order/. You fill in your company details, accept the lead production order terms and pay 100% upfront, plus a 4% processing fee. Live transfers are not sold online; they are quoted per call, so book a call at /book/ for those.

Why are exclusive MCA leads more expensive than shared leads?

An exclusive lead is sold once, so the provider gives up the revenue it could have earned by selling the same record to other buyers. In return, you are not racing several funders to the same merchant. Whether the premium pays off depends on how quickly your team calls and how much competition hurts your close rate.

Is pay-per-call more expensive than buying leads?

Per unit, a live transfer usually costs more than a lead, because the merchant is already screened and on the phone. Per funded deal, it can be cheaper or more expensive depending on how well your closers convert and how many calls you miss. Compare both on fully loaded cost per funded deal over the same period.

Do aged MCA leads have a lower cost per funded deal?

Sometimes. Aged records cost less each, but it takes more dials, texts and emails to start each conversation, so labor rises. Teams with spare rep capacity and a strong multi-week cadence often find aged leads competitive. Teams already at capacity may find the extra labor erases the savings. Your own tagged numbers settle it.

What is a good cost per funded deal for MCA?

A good cost per funded deal is one that leaves a profit after the revenue you earn from that deal, including labor. That depends on your average funded amount, your commission or margin and your renewal rate, so there is no universal target. Work out your break-even figure first, then judge every lead source against it.

Do filters always raise the price of MCA leads?

Usually the price per lead goes up, since a smaller share of merchants passes. The payoff comes when the filter strips out merchants you would never close, which can bring your cost per funded deal down. The key is choosing filters that match your actual underwriting. A filter that excludes merchants you could have funded raises cost without improving results, so review your filters after each test.

Can I get volume pricing on MCA leads?

Yes, and the discounts are published. Real-time packs are full price at 150 leads, 20% off at 500 and 30% off at 1,000, so 1,000 exclusive leads cost $42 each. Aged orders get 10% off at 20,000 records, 25% off at 50,000 and 50% off at 100,000. It usually pays to commit to a larger order only after a smaller one gives you real cost-per-funded figures.

What costs besides the lead price should I include?

Include sales labor, dialer and texting tools, CRM costs, data hygiene such as suppression lists, and the time managers spend on oversight. These costs differ sharply by lead type. Aged lists consume dialing hours, live transfers consume closer hours and real-time leads need fast routing. Leaving them out makes cheap leads look better than they are.

How long should I wait before judging an MCA lead order?

Long enough for the full sales cycle to play out. Real-time leads often show results within a couple of weeks, while aged cadences can run for several weeks before the last deals fund. Many buyers judge every source at a fixed point, such as 60 days after delivery, so slower sources are not undercounted against faster ones.
